It is because of a maximum per reply token limitation, which is around 300 words. You can just prompt the model to write further with: "continue"

Tokens correspond to a number of characters that are sent over to Llama-3 API. These transactions to the model and back cost me money.

Not necessarily. I frequently update the site, and sometimes an old version is cached by browser, leading to failure to communicate with ChatGPT API. I suggest trying to reload the page by CTRL+SHIFT+R

Yes, the data are erased, but you can copy your messages and save them locally.

Yes, By using keywords - current, latest, etc. you can trigger a quick web search agent, which would perform a web search followed summarization by GPT model of the latest info from the internet. The button "Web Researcher" will trigger an extensive web search and can take time.
Can your app read or generate images?
Yes, it can. For image generation use the keywords like - generate image, create picture, etc. This would trigger image generation by Stable Diffusoin XL. For image analysis use GPT-4-vision model.
